Become and remain optimistic
RetailPlus qualifications will give you a thorough grounding and a new set of skills and knowledge that will enable you to make a real difference and stand out from the crowd. In these times of austerity measures and recession, there has never been a more important time to develop your skills, keep your job and ensure your store is a great success.
You will be a retail employee or someone looking to get into retailing. Either way, you’ll benefit greatly and seriously enhance your future potential. You can even purchase the workbooks yourself.
The future of convenience retailing is bright. There is a continued trend to shop locally and your goal must be to have customers wanting to shop with you and feel welcome when they do. Remember, people buy from people they like.
Be optimistic in everything you do and believe that the best way to predict a great future is to create it. So, embrace your learning and reap the benefits that will come your way.
Distance learning at storeRetailPlus is a package of easy to use workbooks, full of practical tasks and activities to get you involved, all designed to develop your skills and help you gain credit for the work that you do.
The workbooks are completed at store, with a little help from your manager, and once completed successfully, you will receive a National Certificate, accredited by Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body.
What’s in it for me? RetailPlus is a simple but highly effective way of building and maintaining a verified record of the training and qualifications you have gained.
It demonstrates a real commitment from you to develop your skills and maximise the potential you have.
You’ll become more knowledgeable and skillful in the job you have, giving you more confidence and you’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification every time you complete a workbook. By completing more workbooks, you’ll gain more skills, stand out from the crowd when that promotion opportunity comes round and gain a higher qualification.
By understanding more about the store and gaining new skills, you'll be able to raise standards, increase sales, reduce wastage and leakage and improve customer service levels. Having these in your tool kit, you’ll be able to take on more responsibilities and become engaged in the success of the business and add real value to the store you work in.
Become an invaluable asset
No matter how good a retailer your boss is, they can't be in more than one place at a time. So they have to trust you to manage certain areas of the store and take feedback from you. Effective listening is an integral part of running a successful business.
RetailPlus workbooks are full of opportunities for you to recommend improvements, make changes and offer ideas to your manager. The key is to get them to listen. A great way to achieve this is by starting your conversation with, "I've got a great idea to save you money", or "I've got a great idea to increase sales". Trust us, it always works!
